Bio

Kenzo Digital is a director, creative director, and artist based in New York City. His work is dedicated to synthesizing new narrative forms with groundbreaking technology to create impactful, emotional stories. He is the founder of Kenzo Digital Immersive, an immersive storytelling studio based in New York. As an experiential and immersive director, Kenzo is best known for his collaborative work with Beyonce, including her video-driven 2011 Billboard Awards performance of “Run The World,” and the United Nations’ World Humanitarian Day 2012 project, “I Was Here,” which was nominated for an MTV VMA Award and broke social media records with 2.76 billion media impressions. Other notable experiential and immersive projects include “Social Galaxy” presented by Samsung (installations in New York, Rio, Frankfurt), “Nocturnal Awakening” presented by Bacardi (installation in New York), Kanye West’s “All of the Lights” presented by Heineken, and Kenzo Paris’ S/S 2013 Runway Show. Beyond immersive and experiential, Kenzo has also directed traditional films which have been featured at the Mill Valley Film Festival, and the Tribeca Film Festival, where he received the Disruptive Innovator of the Year Award in 2013. As a creative director, he’s worked for Wieden+Kennedy on Nike, Google Robotics (Bot & Dolly), and Apple. Additionally, Kenzo serves as the video director of Nam June Paik’s studio (the father of video art), and in that capacity has worked on installations exhibited at the Guggenheim, Tate Modern, and National Gallery of Art. He is an expert in residence at the Harvard University Innovation Lab. Kenzo’s work has been featured in The New York Times, Wired, The Creator's Project, Monocle, Fast Company, Vogue, New York Magazine, Creativity Online, and many others. He is represented by UTA (Film, TV, VR), managed by Untitled Entertainment, and is a director at the VR production company Here Be Dragons.
