B.S. in Mathematics and a M.Sc. in Systems Engineering. Scientific researcher at COPPE/UFRJ and IBM Scientific Center. Founded several companies in Brazil and in the USA. Salim has been selected an "Endeavor Entrepreneur" (2000); awarded "Entrepreneur of the Year" among all Endeavor entrepreneurs worldwide (2001); and has been awarded "Empreendedor do Novo Brasil" (2002) in a countrywide contest. Currently a professor at Ibmec Business School for undergrad and MBA students, he created and runs the institution’s entrepreneurship center. Member of the board of comercial companies, he is also member of the Council of Young Entrepreneurs of FIRJAN (Federation of Industries of Rio de Janeiro) and a business columnist at relevant Brazilian newspapers and websites.
