About Amber
Bio
I am a junior at Northeast High School in Goose Lake, Iowa. I've always lived in Iowa and grew up on a farm. My mother works at my school as a guidance counselor and my father is a farmer. I have an older brother and a younger sister. This is my first year on student council, so it is my first year being a part of the TEDx event that our school is holding. In school I'm also involved in FFA, Basketball, Track, Jazz Band, Spanish Club, and a podcast about agriculture called Current Ag Concerns.
The TED story
I got involved with TED this year as a member of my student council at school. This is the second year our school will be hosting an event and I'm interested to see what goes into something like this! I'm involved with agriculture inside and outside of school, being raised on a farm and involved with 4-H and FFA. I'm also really interested in art so I think it is cool that our theme for this year's TEDx event incorporates both of these things.
