Philanthropist, Project manager, World traveler

Driven by the desire to improve the world in which we live, I devote my time to transforming our country's broken healthcare system. Through building teams of content experts and operations professionals, I've produced over 10 in-person learning sessions which have convened healthcare leadership as well as cross-functional teams dedicated to practice transformation. Outside of work, I'm a part-time MBA student at the UC Davis Graduate School of Management (GSM), gaining skills and experience to sharpen my skills to serve in healthcare leadership. My professional and personal experiences have included serving on several boards, including Education Francaise Bay Area (after-school, affordable and engaging French language education) and the World Affairs Council (dedicated to facilitating conversation around global affairs). I've volunteered with the Women's Community Clinic and Alliance for African Assistance. I have a deep love of France and spent my junior year in college in Toulouse, France.

Critical thinking. I believe in the power of reflection and taking time to think before acting. Our culture is biased towards action; many of us may have worked or lived in environments where it's more important to act quickly than to think, plan and act methodically. The skill of showing patience and taking a step back from a situation to reflect on potential outcomes is especially important in our fast-paced, tech-empowered world.

Every American adult should have an advance directive. Influenced by my own work in healthcare policy, as well as TED speaker Dr. BJ Miller, who speaks about designing for death, I believe firmly that planning for the eventuality that will affect us all is extremely important. It is not a matter to be taken lightly, of course, and can be difficult for our culture to acknowledge that we are not immortal. Given the high emotional, psychological and pecuniary affects that the processing of passing away has for our family and friends, it's crucial that we start talking about it.
