Bio

Jim Scheinman is the founding managing partner of Maven Ventures, a leading Silicon Valley consumer early-seed venture fund. He's the guy that came up with the name Zoom as a very early investor in the company. Maven invests in the best technical visionary founders with a 'vision worth fighting for, and spots game-changing trends such as video communication, self-driving cars, virtual reality, and novel marketplaces. As a founder and investor for over 25 years, Jim has been fortunate to achieve 5 unicorn exits including Zoom & Cruise. He holds a BS in neuropsychology from Duke University & a JD from the University of California Davis King Hall School of Law.
