Will Tolliver Jr

Will Tolliver is a Garden Educator for Grow Pittsburgh. He began his role in August of 2017. Will's primary responsibilities include delivering, managing, and directly supporting garden programming at up to 10 schools in the Greater Pittsburgh region, developing curriculum for grades K-3, and planning and facilitating various teacher workshops. Will also sits on the Pennsylvania EE Capacity Leadership Team, an initiative to increase diversity in environmental education, and is an Alumni Fellow with the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL). Prior to joining Grow Pittsburg, Will was a Program Associate for Educational Projects at the Pittsburgh Association for the Education of Young Children (PAEYC) where he provided administrative and logistical support to grant funded education initiatives while he simultaneously developed curriculum. Before that, Will was the Homewood Nature Educator at the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy (PPC). Will was responsible for management, development, and implementation of a PNC Grow Up Great initiative coined Buzzword Pittsburgh. In his role at PPC, Will’s work blended environmental education, community outreach and engagement, and early childhood literacy. Also in the past, Will received his BA in Environmental Studies and Minor in Community and Justice Studies at Allegheny College. While perusing his degree, Will was the Assistant to the Director at Creek Connections at Allegheny College. In this role he assisted with grant writing, curriculum development and implementation, and operations management. Will has been dedicated to the field of education for quite some time, and plans to only further his career. Will loves sharing his passion for the environment and education with everyone he meets
