Bio

Carrie is the Chief Operating Officer of Kepler, a higher education program in Rwanda. Student at Kepler earn a US Bachelor's degree through a partnership with Southern New Hampshire University. Carrie's role includes preparing the organization for scale through systems and capacity buildin and working on decreasing the subsidy needed for each student while maintaining the services needed to support student from vulnerable backgrounds. Carrie began her work in Rwanda in 2012 as the Academic Director for the Akilah Institute for Women. In December 2013, she moved to Burundi to launch Akilah's second campus. Previously, she served as the National Program Director of Girls For A Change for 7 years overseeing strategy and program implementation. She also worked as a consultant with Collective Action Training, a company she co-founded in 2007. Carrie graduated from the University of San Francisco in May 2012 with an MA in International and Multicultural Education with an emphasis in Human Rights Education. She was a 2011-12 AAUW Career Development Grant Recipient and also serves as a founding member of the Program Advisory Board for The Respect Institute.
