Wes Goldstein

Wes is a father, husband, entrepreneur, advisor and investor. Wes helped launch both Energy Impact Partners (EIP) and Mobility Impact Partners (MIP), two funds that invest strategically in the energy and transportation sectors, respectively. EIP closed its first fund of $681mm in July of 2017 and will be closing fund two in 2019 while MIP should be closing its first fund in 2019. Wes remains an Operating Partner at both funds as he is focused on sourcing and evaluating Series A+ investments that apply ML/DL to various enterprise and industrial applications. Over the last eight years, Wes has also helped launch two operating companies, one in the geospatial big data and analytics sector and the other building microgrids in emerging markets. Wes has just launched another company, Judex.io, that is applying a machine learning approach to a specific interviewing rubric to automate deception detection via speech during interviews. For the last 15 years, Wes has worked for and is currently Managing Partner at Hobbs & Towne, an advisory services firm where he has specifically focused on organizational development, private-equity restructurings and workouts. Lastly, Wes serves as an Advisor to Expa and Expa Labs, which started as Garrett Camps family office and has developed into an innovative early stage startup studio and fund. Prior to this activity, Wes spent several years in business development and finance roles with a nutraceutical and healthcare product’s developer. He helped structure what was eventually an exit for the business. Wes earned a BS from Wittenberg University. After graduating, he studied in Lesotho and South Africa where he was predominately focused on the impact of Apartheid on Sub-Saharan economies—he remains passionate about the area.
