Bio
Cliff optimizes everything. He is a culture & innovation Evangelist for Google. Prior to that, he led global efforts for the Talks at Google program. He has been featured in the New York Times and the Reader's Digest.
He has a MS in Management Science & Engineering from Stanford and undergraduate degrees in French, History & Psychology from the University of Illinois. He grew up in a boating family, but only learned to waterski in high school (after much struggle). Some turning points in his life were: high school speech team (qualifying for the NFL National Tournament without ever receiving a 1st Place finish), attending HOBY, meeting John Glenn on his 21st birthday, and teaching English in Yanai, Japan.
Thanks to being an early adopter of Chromecast, his personal photography has a viewcount exceeding 760MM. Always looking for the next adventure!
I'm passionate about
Museum studies, aviation, classical music, immersive Shakespeare, and BBQ judging.
An idea worth spreading
My professor of Japanese Aesthetics, Kimiko Gunji, spreads "peace through a bowl of tea."
The TED story
I managed and expanded the Talks at Google program into the icon it is today. After hosting a steady stream of TED speakers, I wanted to experience it firsthand. With the encouragement of my TED friends, I applied and am thrilled to attend my first Conference.
