David founded Merchant Growth in 2009. Merchant Growth provides financing to Canadian small businesses by using technology to provide the country’s most convenient and accessible financing experience. Since its founding he has grown the business into Canada’s largest non-bank small business finance company with offices in Vancouver and Toronto. Merchant Growth has provided of $1 billion in financing to over 10,000 Canadian small businesses. In 2014, David was named in Business in Vancouver’s Top Forty Under 40, and in 2015 he was named in BCBusiness Magazine’s Top 30 Under 30. In 2016 and 2018, David was a finalist in the prestigious Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards in the fintech category.

I played in bands growing up, having toured and shared the stage with Guns N’ Roses, Alice in Chains and many others. One of my bands had a single that went #1 on Canadian rock radio. I run a fintech that provides credit to small businesses, as well as a private credit fund that invests in specialty finance portfolios. I’m driven to make a positive impact on all stakeholders in my ventures and the world at large.
