Bio
I've worked for Portland Community College (PCC) for the past ten years and am currently with their Media Production group where I do computer support and direct many of the live events we cover. I still do freelance studio production for Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB) and had worked for San Jose's PBS affiliate, KTEH, when it was around.
I've been writing for MacDirectory Magazine since 1999 and am currently a senior contributing editor.
At PCC, I'm Membership Committee chair of the Education Advisory Council and a member of the Completion Investment Council.
I'm passionate about
...making sure that technology in education is an asset and not a barrier.
An idea worth spreading
Technology literacy is a major issue for students entering community college. Originally, this only affected older students returning to school for retraining after many years in the workforce. Now, even younger students are coming in without inadequate computer skills, as K12 technology budgets are slashed and more and more only have experience with tablets and smart phones.
Areas of expertise
