Imran Siddiquee

Imran Siddiquee is a filmmaker, writer, speaker, and activist challenging the representation of race and gender in popular media. He is the former Director of Communications and was a founding staff member of The Representation Project, where he helped create and lead large-scale campaigns to call-out sexist media, increase representation for marginalized groups, and reached millions through documentary film and social media advocacy. Imran is the writer and director of two short films about masculinity and the impact of whitewashed romantic cinema, including "Love Reset," which was a winner of MTV's 2015 Look Different Creator's Challenge. His writing on white supremacy, patriarchy, and the media has appeared in The Atlantic, Buzzfeed, Salon, The Establishment, The Week, and Bright Ideas Magazine. In 2014 he gave a TEDx talk titled “How Hollywood Can Tell Better Love Stories,” which centered on the relationship between cinematic representation and empathy.
