About Dawnn

Bio

I am the top legal officer for Freeman, the leading provider of integrated services for live engagements and brand building events, including expositions, conventions, corporate events, meetings and exhibit programs in North America. I am responsible for all legal issues affecting the company, although I consider myself a business person first and a lawyer second. Through the years, I have gained a wide range of in-house legal experience encompassing drafting and negotiating contracts, litigation management, employment and labor issues, merger and acquisitions, commercial disputes, intellectual property, data security, government regulation, multiemployer pension plans, ESOP and other benefit plan design, and corporate governance. I hold a B.S. from the University of Arizona and a Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude, from the Thomas Jefferson School of Law. I am a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel, the General Counsel's Forum, the California State Bar and the Texas State Bar. Prior to joining Freeman as the company’s first in-house attorney, I was Director of Litigation Management Services for a large private insurance brokerage, and before that, was in private practice. I am licensed to practice law in California and Texas. I, along with 3 other executive women at Freeman, started FWD - Freeman Women's Development; a grass roots program whose mission is to advance women as leader and I serve on the Advisory Council of FWD.
