I’m TED’s Research Director! I oversee fact-checking for our talks and podcasts.
My background is in animal behavior and I am particularly interested in how nonhuman animal social bonds can inform conservation and wild animal welfare.
Before TED, I collected data on golden-winged manakins in the cloud forests of Ecuador, Common loons in the Northwoods of Wisconsin, and African gray parrots at an avian cognition lab. For my master’s, I studied changes in group membership and scent marking behavior in Verreaux's sifaka, a type of lemur.
