Poonam Sethi

Dr. Poonam Sethi is currently an Associate Professor at Hindu College in the Department of Commerce. She joined the college in 1994. She completed her schooling at Delhi Public School, Mathura Road and graduated from Sri Venkateshwara College (gold medalist B.Com (H)). She completed her postgraduation, M.Phil and PhD from Department of Commerce, Delhi School of Economics, University of Delhi. She is also a UGC NET qualified JRF holder. Her teaching experience includes her expertise in handling diverse subjects like microeconomics, macroeconomics, business mathematics, business statistics, Human Resource management, Indian Economy, Business Law, Auditing and Corporate Governance to name a few. Her M.Phil research(1993) dealt with the banking sector reforms in India in the post liberalization era. Her PhD on the topic “selected aspects of corporate governance with respect to shareholder participation” was awarded in 2008. She is currently on the editorial board of the journal of Global Research Foundation for Corporate Governance titled, ‘Corporate Governance Insight’. She is currently on the panel of supervisors to guide PhD/MPhil students of Delhi University. She has been on numerous committees constituted by the Department of Commerce, Delhi School of Economics. Her administrative experience includes wardenship of the Hindu College Boys’ Hostel for a period of three years. She also has been the teacher in charge of the department of commerce twice 2008-09, 2013-14. She currently holds the prestigious memberships of Academy of Management, New York, USA, Indian Commerce Association, India, and Platinum membership of Global Research Foundation for Corporate Governance, India.
