Starr Corbin

Starr Corbin is the Co-Founder and President of Corbin Solutions Group, a boutique IT research and advisory firm that specializes in providing customers tailored IT information and risk analysis for large-scale IT implementations. She is also a Commissioner for the State of Texas Governor's Commission for Women. In this role, Starr supports state initiatives to make Texas the number one state for women-owned businesses in addition to raising awareness of women's veteran issues and getting more girls into STEM. Starr has spent her entire career working in the IT industry in both the private and public sectors. She began her career serving honorably in the Unites States Army as a Signal Officer and served with the First Cavalry Division and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during Operation Iraqi Freedom in Baghdad, Iraq. As a graduate student at the University of Texas following her service, she co-founded the Student Veteran’s Association and worked with university mental health facilities to provide PTSD services to student veterans. Starr is an alumni of Texas Christian University and the University of Texas at Austin where she earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees. She is currently a Master of Business Administration candidate at the University of Texas at Austin and will graduate in Spring 2017. An athlete by nature, Starr has also completed the 2015 Ironman in Houston, Texas.

I am passionate about getting more women into business, promoting more girls into STEM fields and, as an Army veteran, women veteran’s issues. I devote time promoting these issues as a Commissioner on the Texas Governor’s Commission for Women.
