Bio
I'm a wife, mom, aunt, sister, daughter, fitness enthusiast, student and business professional. I have an awesome husband who is very supportive in my career endeavors while managing his own. I also have two wonderful children, 15 and 14 years old. I feel tremendous pressure to teach them so much. I am excited to watch them through their journey but nervous at the same time.
I have been in Materials/Operations throughout my career. I am from Detroit, MI and recently moved to Grand Rapids. I love this side of the state as does my family. It's absolutely beautiful and peaceful here.
I have been working for Steelcase since my move here to Grand Rapids and have really enjoyed the work I do and the people I work with. I am tremendously thankful for the opportunities afforded to me by Steelcase. It really is an amazing company that cares for their employees.
I'm passionate about
Being the best person I can be and serving others. I also love health and fitness. I merged the two by coaching people needing guidance in their health and fitness journey's. Of course I'm also passionate about my family and giving them my best self.
An idea worth spreading
I have two! Servant leadership - I have been on quite the learning journey. Many, many years ago it began with becoming more self-aware. Then it grew into team building, then into helping others in their development, then I've evolved into learning and becoming more of a servant leader. Becoming a servant leader is a journey all on it's own. Simon Sinek has been very inspirational when it comes to this new journey for me.
The power of food is another idea worth spreading! Food has good and bad powers. I've learned to utilize food for the good powers. Food can both feed disease or fight it; it's a daily choice we make. Forks over knives is my favorite documentary on this topic.

The TED story
We can overcome anything. We can choose to not let our past, present or future obstacles define us. Everyone has a past, a story, some may be more shocking than others but to each of us they have an impact and it's up to us to determine if we are going to let these experiences hold us back or grow.
