About Alexandre

Bio

Alexandre Douzet is the Chief Executive Officer of TheLadders, the premier online job-matching service for career-driven professionals, where he is responsible for the company strategy, global business operations, and product development. He co-founded the company in 2003 with Marc Cenedella and Andrew Koch, and grew the member base to over 5 million since inception. Alex is based in the New York headquarters. Under Alex’s leadership, the company launched two ground-breaking products in 2010: TheLadders PipelineTM and FitFinder. TheLadders Pipeline is a real-time targeting tool that provides job seekers with up-to-the-minute notifications about openings that recruiters need to fill, whereas FitFinder sources Talent Specialists who match job postings with highly qualified candidates from whom employers can immediately start recruiting. As Executive Vice President from 2003 to 2008, Alex drove job search by launching the executive resume service, growing TheLadders’ subscription base from zero to more than 2 million members. Additionally, Alex has authored An Investigation of Pay per Click Search Engine Advertising: Modeling the PPC Paradigm to Lower Cost per Action. Before TheLadders, Alex was Director of Online Marketing at HotJobs, as well as Manager of Marketing Planning and Analysis for BMG Direct. Alex holds an MBA in general management from INSEAD, an MS in direct marketing from New York University, and a BS in business administration from the University of Lyon III in France. During his NYU studies, he received the prestigious Lester Wunderman Award, which recognizes creative leadership, marketing innovation, and online excellence. A competitive athlete, Alex finished the 2012 Ironman U.S. Championship in 12 hours, 12 minutes and 21 seconds.

An idea worth spreading

Alan Kay said " "The best way to predict the future is to invent it." I believe that the best way to invent the future is to predict the future by engineering it. Game theory is the best way to do so. Why because people respond to incentive and focus on what is the best outcome for them.

The TED story

My two most inspiring moments at TED where the TED talks about "Born to Run", by Chris MacDougall. After the talk I went on to read the book and ever since I have been running "bare foot". The second one was by Bruce Bueno de Mesquita, 3 predictions on the future of Iran. I am very passionate about the power of Game Theory to engineer and predict the future.
