About Matt
Bio
After serving as the first ever Chief Sustainability Officer for the City of Los Angeles, I took the helm of LACI in 2017. We are working hard at LACI to create an inclusive, green economy by unlocking innovation via climate and sustainability focused start ups, transforming markets via partnerships (e.g., our Transportation Electrification Partnership that is using the 2028 to accelerate progress toward zero emissions mobility and goods movement), and enhancing communities through workforce development, supporting female entrepreneurs, and more. I also serve as board chair of Climate Mayors--we have over 400 mayors across the U.S. committed to adopting the Paris climate agreement in their cities. I also serve on the boards of the Metropolitan Water District and the Center for Environmental Health. Other stuff: I am a retired AYSO soccer coach, a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, an Edmund Hillary Fellow, and a proud dad.
