Bio

At Khan Academy, I help schools make the most of our online learning resources in their classrooms. I have worked for Cisco, managing a large part of their multi-million dollar IT training and professional certifications portfolio. As a CXO at Global Discovery Schools and Director of Academics at Pearson Schools India, I designed the daily classroom experience of thousands of students nationally. I am a TED-Ed Innovative Educator, an advisor to the school on the Barefoot College campus, a TEDx speaker, and an alumnus of the Stanford University Graduate School of Education.

I'm passionate about

High quality teacher training A formal maker space in every school. Learning spaces designed by kids instead of adults. Eliminating all extraneous busy work for learners and teachers. Meditation taught at schools. ... I could go on for a long time. :)

An idea worth spreading

All children should be encouraged to be entrepreneurs, in that they must own and build something, where that "something" is whatever is near and dear to their hearts.

Areas of expertise

Education management, Education technology, Maker spaces in schools

The TED story

TED came into my life at a time I was working a mind-numbingly dull corporate job as a middle management paper-pusher. Watching all those cool people talking about the cool things they were passionate about was a huge catalyst in my exploring my own passion for educating.
