Bio

From a young age, drawing has always been my favorite means of expression, but I never thought that I would build a career out of it, until one summer dabbling in jewelry design drew me away from my psychology career path. After graduating from Tufts University, I enrolled in the Gemological Institute of America in New York where I graduated with a degree in Gemology and Jewelry Design, and after an apprenticeship in jewelry manufacturing I officially launched my first line. Coming from Lebanese parents and having lived and studied in Nigeria, Paris and New York I’ve inherited an invaluable exposure to numerous cultures, languages, art, history, and architecture. Such exposure has inspired a desire to explore my own creativity, a curiosity for beauty, a freedom of imagination and an insatiable love for design. A notebook, which accompanies my every moment, is the first outlet to my thoughts and feelings. Like a journal, I translate whatever moves me and transpires inspiration into drawings. Designing is my gateway to discovering, capturing and describing my world, a means of concretizing my interpretation of beauty. When my message feels complete and whole, I render my sketches into technical drawings, and from that point these drawings become the foundation of the collaboration between my artisans and I. When you are open to seeing beauty, it just comes to you. My inspiration comes from being in love with the little things in life, details that move, ignite and transform me in some capacity. I believe that inspiration demands no effort; it is something one finds when we allow ourselves to be free.
