Bio

I am currently a PhD researcher at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, focusing on privacy-preserving federated learning for solar energy forecasting. My research sits at the intersection of machine learning, secure aggregation, and renewable-energy analytics, where I design resilient FL frameworks that protect sensitive behind-the-meter PV data while improving forecasting accuracy in real-world Malaysian and Singaporean solar contexts. Prior to PhD, I served as a Test Engineer at Pactera Malaysia Inc. Sdn. Bhd – UOB Singapore, applying my expertise in quality assurance and automated testing to deliver reliable, enterprise-grade software products. I am a certified Tosca Automation Tester (AS1 & AS2), with hands-on experience building scalable test suites and ensuring end-to-end product quality. I hold a Bachelor of Computer Science (Software Engineering) (Hons.) and Master of Information Technology from Universiti Tenaga Nasional, where I built a strong foundation in software engineering principles, systems thinking, and data-driven problem-solving. My industry experience includes working as a Software Testing Intern at Alliance Bank Malaysia Berhad, where I contributed to test planning, design, execution, and defect lifecycle management. I’m passionate about bridging research, engineering, and real-world impact, whether through secure machine learning systems, renewable-energy technology, or high-quality software engineering practices. Outside of research, I stay active in tech communities, attend meetups and conferences, and continuously sharpen my skills in AI, distributed systems, and automation. I’m always open to connecting with researchers, engineers, and industry partners who value innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.

I'm passionate about

There are a few things that make life feel a little more meaningful to me. Books. have always been one of them. I love getting lost in stories, discovering different perspectives, and finding ideas that stay with me long after I finish the last page. Travel gives me a different kind of excitement. Exploring new places, experiencing different cultures, walking through unfamiliar streets, and collecting little memories along the way are things I genuinely enjoy. Photography is how I like to capture those moments. Whether it’s a city street, a landscape, a random everyday scene, or a portrait, I enjoy finding beauty in things that might otherwise go unnoticed. Playing the keyboard is something I’m still exploring and learning. I enjoy the process of turning simple notes into something musical, and there’s something calming about sitting down and trying to learn a song. And then there are pets. I’ve always had a soft spot for animals. Their companionship, personalities, and the simple happiness they bring can make even an ordinary day feel better. Books, places, photographs, music, and animals different interests, but together they make up a pretty big part of the things that bring me joy.

An idea worth spreading

You don’t have to be extraordinary to live an extraordinary life. You just have to stay curious. Read the book. Take the trip. Learn the instrument. Capture the moment. Spend time with animals. Try something you’re terrible at. I believe curiosity keeps life from becoming repetitive. Every new skill, place, person, story, or experience adds another layer to who we are. We often wait until we have more time, confidence, or money before trying something new, but sometimes the most meaningful parts of life begin simply because we decided to explore. A curious life may not always be perfectly planned, but it is rarely boring.
