Dr. Valrie Grant is an award-winning entrepreneur, geospatial and innovation leader, author, podcast host and community builder whose work is grounded in the power of ideas, technology and collaboration to create meaningful change. Throughout her career, she has brought people together across disciplines, cultures and sectors to explore complex questions and imagine new possibilities. Her experience has shown her that a fresh perspective, the right conversation or an unexpected connection can change the direction of a community, an organization or an individual life. As TEDxViera Lead Organizer and License Holder, Valrie is leading the development of an independently organized, community-centered platform where original ideas can be thoughtfully explored and shared with audiences in Viera and beyond. Her vision for TEDxViera extends beyond producing an event. She seeks to create an experience that inspires people to see differently, listen more deeply and leave with an expanded sense of what is possible.

I am passionate about the power of ideas, science and technology to transform lives, strengthen communities and create meaningful change. I believe data should do more than inform decisions but it should help us make better ones, anticipate challenges and build more resilient systems. I am equally passionate about bringing people and perspectives together, mentoring entrepreneurs and supporting young people as they discover their potential and develop the confidence to pursue bold ideas. At the heart of my work is a commitment to expanding opportunity, encouraging collaboration and ensuring that geography does not dictate destiny.

My TED story began with a belief that one powerful idea can shift a perspective, spark a conversation and change the direction of a life. Throughout my work across communities, countries and sectors, I have seen what becomes possible when people with different experiences come together to listen, question and imagine. TED has long represented that possibility through a platform where complex ideas can be made accessible and where a single voice can reach far beyond the room in which it is first heard. Becoming the Lead Organizer and License Holder for TEDxViera allows me to bring that spirit to my own community and create a space where original ideas can be explored thoughtfully and shared widely. For me, TEDxViera is more than an event. It is an opportunity to connect people, elevate ideas worth spreading and inspire each of us to see familiar challenges and future possibilities from a new vantage point.
