Bio

Aurora Sturli is a writer, researcher, and theatre-maker completing a PhD in Italian Studies at the University of Cambridge. Her work explores women's writing, memory, and literary networks, with a particular focus on how personal narratives shape cultural and social identities. Alongside her academic research, she has organised international conferences, created public-facing cultural initiatives, and written for a range of audiences on literature and theatre. At Cambridge, Aurora founded and directs an Italian book club, has led theatre productions as a writer, translator, and producer, and is committed to making humanities research accessible beyond academia. Her work brings together scholarship, storytelling, and performance to examine how individual experiences can challenge dominant narratives and create new forms of collective understanding. Through both her academic and creative work, Aurora explores how literature circulates across generations, how women writers build communities of exchange and influence, and how cultural narratives shape collective memory. She is particularly interested in bringing academic research into dialogue with wider audiences, using storytelling, performance, and public engagement to rethink the relationship between the past and the present.
