Bio
Dr. Adiba S. Khan is a cancer researcher at the University of Cambridge whose work is driven by a commitment to making cancer diagnosis, treatment, and research more accessible around the world. With over eight years of experience in oncology research, she earned her PhD studying breast cancer before expanding her work into lymphoma biology, cancer genomics, and translational medicine.
Her current research focuses on Burkitt lymphoma, a highly aggressive childhood cancer that disproportionately affects low-resource regions, with collaborations spanning the UK and East Africa. Through her work, she aims to bridge the gap between scientific innovation and equitable healthcare, ensuring that advances in cancer research can benefit patients regardless of where they live.
Beyond the laboratory, Adiba is passionate about creating opportunities for others. She is actively involved in the Young Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma Network, supporting collaboration, advocacy, and engagement within the lymphoma community. She also supports educational scholarship initiatives for underprivileged children in Bangladesh through Alter Youth, helping young people access opportunities that might otherwise be out of reach.
Adiba believes that meaningful change happens when knowledge, opportunity, and innovation are made accessible to all. Through her work in research, education, and community engagement, she is committed to helping create a future where scientific progress and opportunity are not limited by geography or circumstance.
I'm passionate about
Using science and education as tools to create more equal opportunities, particularly in access to healthcare and knowledge across different parts of the world.
An idea worth spreading
Potential is everywhere; opportunity should be too.
