Hello Everyone, My name is Anjali Gupta, currently pursuing Honours Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and Economics. I had the opportunity to be the Finance Lead for TedxLakeheadU 2026 and it was a wonderful experience.

You are born a zero. No name, no number, no record. A zero in every database that will one day define you. Then the world begins counting. Your ID. Your age. Your rank in 8 billion. Your salary, your score, your percentile. The world doesn't see "you"— it sees a coordinate. A data point in an ocean of data points. And when you die? The world resets the counter. Another zero. Filed, forgotten, averaged into history. But here's what the world's math misses entirely: To the people who love you, you were never a number. You were a laugh they still hear. A voice they saved on their phone. A name that unlocks something in their chest. A story they tell at every dinner table, long after you're gone. The world measures in integers. Love measures in infinity. The equation no spreadsheet can hold: 0 (at birth) + a lifetime of love = ∞ You are simultaneously the smallest unit in the universe's ledger — and boundless in the hearts of the few who truly knew you. That's not a contradiction. That's the whole point. The idea worth spreading: Stop trying to matter to the world's count. Matter infinitely to a few.
