
About Silvia
Bio
Silvia Scardini is a researcher and PhD candidate in Management, Banking and Commodity Sciences at Sapienza Università di Roma, where she focuses on the dynamics of digital platform ecosystems and the concentration of power among dominant platform orchestrators.
Her academic work explores the intersection of innovation, public policy, and digital transformation, with particular attention to European strategies for digital sovereignty and the governance of platform-based markets. She has contributed to international research on platform power structures and their economic implications, publishing in peer-reviewed journals and academic conferences.
Silvia holds both a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Management of Enterprises from Sapienza Università di Roma, graduating with top honors. Alongside her doctoral studies, she is also an alumna of the School for Advanced Studies at Sapienza (SSAS), where she pursued an interdisciplinary academic path in legal, political, economic, and social sciences.
Beyond research, Silvia is actively engaged in academic and extracurricular initiatives. She serves as Co-Organizer of TEDxSapienzaU and Vice President of the SapienzaU Association, contributing to the promotion of innovation, knowledge sharing, and student leadership within the university ecosystem.
Her broader research interests include digital platforms, public policy, innovation ecosystems, and European funding and project design, with a strong commitment to understanding how institutions and firms can navigate and shape the evolving digital economy.
