Zehra Akçocuk is an accomplished educator, K–12 specialist, and education coordinator with over 24 years of experience in the field of education. Throughout her career, she has held leadership and coordination roles at prestigious institutions including TED Private School, Tarsus American College (TAC), Doğa Schools, and most recently Yaşam Tasarım Schools. Beginning her journey as a Social Studies teacher in 2003, Zehra has dedicated her career to designing and implementing student-centered educational programs, supporting academic excellence, and fostering innovation in schools. Her expertise spans curriculum development, teacher mentoring, educational leadership, and whole-school coordination across all K–12 grade levels. Passionate about preparing students for a rapidly changing world, Zehra advocates for learning environments that cultivate critical thinking, creativity, global citizenship, and lifelong learning. Through her leadership and vision, she has contributed to the growth and transformation of numerous educational communities, helping both students and educators reach their full potential. Today, she continues to work as an education coordinator and consultant, guiding schools in developing meaningful, future-focused educational experiences that empower the next generation.

For many years as an education coordinator, I have dedicated my career to helping students, teachers, and schools reach their highest potential. Throughout this journey, one aspiration remained constant: to become part of the TED community. TED has always represented more than a stage to me—it embodies the power of ideas to inspire change, challenge perspectives, and bring people together through meaningful dialogue. Recently, I discovered that this dream could become a reality through the TEDx program. What once felt like a distant ambition suddenly became an exciting possibility. As someone who has spent decades fostering growth in educational environments, I see TEDx as an opportunity not only to share my experiences and insights but also to continue growing as a lifelong learner. It offers a platform where passion, purpose, and innovation can meet to create meaningful impact. Joining the TEDx journey marks the beginning of a new chapter in my life. It is an opportunity to contribute ideas worth spreading, to engage with a global community of thinkers and changemakers, and to amplify conversations that can inspire positive transformation. I look forward to sharing the lessons, perspectives, and values that education has taught me, while embracing the inspiration that comes from connecting with others who believe in the power of ideas.
