About Janine
Bio
People and problems – that’s what excites me. I’m infinitely curious, and love helping people embrace the possible. I am a relentless advocate for women, and work closely with Rutgers University and the Institute for Women’s Leadership as a mentor, advisor, and speaker.
I love creating, telling, and sharing stories.
My career began at Google, in the earliest days of the shift to digital marketing, where I developed lasting partnerships with the creative industry and launched global programs to showcase the power of creative technology. I moved from New York to San Francisco to join Google[x], leading inventive marketing for Google Glass, Verily, and the self-driving car. A call to serve my country brought me to the Obama Administration, where I led brand, culture, and communications for the United States Digital Service, a “startup in the White House” tasked with modernizing government services. As Instagram’s global head of consumer marketing, I led award-winning campaigns to combat online bullying, recognize the power of diversity, and connect the community of 1 billion users. Today, I am the Chief Marketing Officer of Transcarent, a company focused on improving healthcare.
