Ema Sun is a youth organizer, public speaker, and founder of Youth Voice Foundation, a youth-led initiative dedicated to empowering young people to share their voices and create positive change. Through youth interviews, community projects, public speaking, and social impact initiatives, Ema creates opportunities for young people to connect, collaborate, and inspire one another. She is an award-winning debater, youth speaker at United Nations youth forums, opera soprano, and Canada Youth Ambassador through the Miss Teen Canada national program. Through these experiences, she has explored the power of storytelling, representation, and dialogue in building stronger communities.

I am passionate about creating platforms where young people feel heard, connected, and empowered to turn ideas into action. Through public speaking, debate, music, and community initiatives, I hope to inspire others to recognize the power of their own voices and contribute positively to the world around them.

Young people do not need to wait to become leaders. Leadership begins when we choose to listen, connect, and take action in our communities. Every young person has a story, perspective, and idea that can contribute to meaningful change. By creating spaces where youth voices are valued, we can build more empathetic and connected communities.

My TED journey began when I gave a TED-style youth talk at a young age, where I discovered the power of storytelling and ideas. Since then, I have continued exploring how young people can create meaningful conversations and positive change through public speaking, arts, and community engagement. From youth forums and international conversations to founding Youth Voice Foundation, I have learned that ideas become more powerful when they are shared with others. TED’s mission inspires me because I believe every voice has the potential to create impact.

I am good at bringing people together, listening to different perspectives, and turning ideas into action. I enjoy creating spaces where people from different backgrounds feel comfortable sharing their stories and contributing their ideas. I believe meaningful change begins with understanding others.
