Bio
Aithan Shapira MFA PhD is an internationally acclaimed Senior Lecturer in Work and Organization Studies at MIT Sloan, an established artist, and founder of TILT, a firm focused on the artful evolution of leaders and cultures as they move critical initiatives forward at the speed of change.
As an executive coach, facilitator, and designer of transformational leadership curricula, Aithan applies his progressive ways for training leaders to serve those impacting billions worldwide who are sincere about doing the inner work necessary to make their outer work work in ever-changing contexts.
Over the last decade, he has coached prime ministers and formed communities of practice with recognized global leaders in tech, health, space, finance, NGOs, and academia. His progressive leadership training has received rigorous industry awards and has been implemented with teams at NASA, the UN, Greenpeace, Google, Mass General Brigham, the Inner Development Goals (IDGs), and Ocean Plastics Leadership Network. He has served McKinsey's think tank for Learning Innovation and is ongoingly developing new curricular approaches for training leadership at MIT, Harvard, and Stanford.
Aithan has trained more than 12,000 leaders, 240 coaches and facilitators, given over 160 keynotes, and customized and delivered leadership curricula for more than 30 Fortune 500 organizations. Aithan developed his research on creative process at the Royal College of Art & Design, lived in an Australian Aboriginal community for three years to study creative maturity, and continues to be a visiting critic at arts institutions internationally. He exhibits his art in museums and galleries in New York, London, and Miami.
