Bio
I forge coalitions across divides as a mediator and political strategist, opening pathways to sustainable peace. As cofounder and leader of the Geneva based Principles for Peace Foundation, a think and do tank, and convenor of the Israeli Palestinian Uniting for a Shared Future coalition, I bring together leaders across business, security, politics and civil society to shape the conditions for lasting change.
Originally from the West Bank, I draw on international experience and senior leadership across conflict and fragile settings, within and beyond the United Nations, as well as lived experience of conflict, to challenge orthodoxies and build more legitimate and durable peace.
I'm passionate about
I am fascinated by human dynamics, culture, identity, politics, and the state of the world, and by how we make sense of difference, power, and change. I am driven by questioning conventional wisdom, working across divides, and stepping into spaces others see as too difficult or risky. I am energised by bold ideas, intelligent risk taking, and conversations with edge. I am also drawn to the richness of human connection, whether through ideas and debate, cooking Middle Eastern food, or embracing my newer Swiss passion for alpine skiing..
An idea worth spreading
In a transactional world, the way back to humanity begins with enlightened self interest.
