About Maanil

I am a…

Artist, Engineer, Event planner, Idea generator, Performer, Student

Bio

I’m an engineering student, event curator and creative communicator who enjoys working at the intersection of ideas, people and execution. Over the years, I’ve been actively involved in hosting and managing university-level events, along with exploring storytelling through theatre, content creation and podcasting. As the License Holder and Organizer of TEDxSilver Oak University, I’m deeply interested in how youth culture, digital influence and media shape identity and society. I believe powerful conversations don’t just inspire—they create awareness, responsibility and change. Through TEDx, my goal is to build a platform that highlights local voices, encourages original thinking and reflects the diverse perspectives of our university community.

I'm passionate about

I am passionate about creating spaces where ideas, creativity and people come together with purpose. Whether it’s through hosting events, anchoring conversations, theatre, podcasting or content creation, I enjoy giving voice to stories that spark reflection and connection. I’m especially drawn to youth culture, media influence and how technology shapes the way we think, communicate and belong. Sports like badminton and table tennis keep me grounded and disciplined, while theatre and storytelling help me understand people beyond roles and labels.

An idea worth spreading

Perspective - The way you think. This idea is often ignored by the thing called "Everybody has different mindset & thinking language", but nobody really talks about how can you change the way of thinking for a positive impact.

Areas of expertise

Content Direction & Creation, Event Management, Hosting & Anchoring, Public Speaking & Debating

The TED story

My TED story comes from being someone who has always believed that ideas can change the direction of people, communities and institutions—when they are shared honestly and with intent. As a student of engineering and an active event organizer, I’ve spent years working behind the scenes—planning, managing teams, solving problems and creating platforms where others could be seen and heard. Along the way, I realized that while technology builds systems, ideas build meaning. What stayed with me most was not just executing events, but witnessing how a single thought, a lived experience, or a different perspective could spark curiosity and confidence in others. TEDx represents that exact intersection for me: structure with creativity, discipline with imagination and logic with human stories. This journey is not about hosting an event alone—it’s about curating a space where voices from our own community can be heard, where students, educators and thinkers can share ideas worth spreading, and where conversations continue long after the stage lights turn off. This is my step toward turning belief into action.

Things you might not know

People don’t usually know that I’m good at listening and observing quietly before taking action. Behind the stage and the spotlight, I spend a lot of time understanding people, reading situations and connecting small details that others might miss. I’m also good at bringing very different personalities together and helping them work as a team—especially in high-pressure event environments. Whether it’s managing last-minute changes, calming nerves backstage or turning scattered ideas into a clear plan, I enjoy making things work smoothly without needing attention for it.
