Bio

I am a passionate, future-focused educator and learning-experience designer with 25 years of demonstrated success in public education. As Certified Learning Engineer at PlayLab, I provide peer coaching and async app feedback, and lead AI tool-building initiatives. In parallel, I teach English 12 at Design Tech High School and am spearheading our Design Your Future curriculum. I coordinate partnerships that leverage the responsible use of AI and deepen engagement and equity. My classrooms emphasize extreme personalization, data-informed instruction, and the purposeful application of learning science. I have presented at the AI SHOW @ ASU+GSV 2025 and have been recognized as an AI for Equity Vanguard Fellow and as an inaugural ISTE GenerationAI Luminary Award winner.

I'm passionate about

I’m passionate about helping students grow up on the jagged edge of AI with their agency, curiosity, and humanity intact—and redesigning school so the end ‘product’ is not the assignment, but the person.

An idea worth spreading

Research shows a growing gap between what students learn in school and the skills they need after graduation; it’s time to redesign high school from a system of content delivery to a system of student delivery into thriving careers and adult life.

Areas of expertise

Artificial Intelligence (AI), Creative Writing, Education, English Literature

The TED story

I have been teaching at d.Tech High School since it's first graduating class and am happy to serve as this year's TedX Club advisor, bringing back the tradition of giving a voice to ideas worth sharing.

Things you might not know

I'm a voracious reader and systems builder. For instance, in order to design this year's design lab curriculum, I read well over 40 books, integrating the best concepts, and keeping the course content relevant and future-forward.
