Technologist

I am a web developer, product thinker, and systems builder from Malaysia. I like turning complex ideas into simple digital experiences that people can understand and use. I started my career in frontend development, but I became curious about more than just the interface. I began learning about product strategy, user experience, business ideas, system design, and how teams work together. Over time, I moved from just building features to asking deeper questions: Why are we building this? What problem are we solving? How can we reuse knowledge instead of repeating work? I have worked on data platforms, progressive web apps, internal systems, gamified campaigns, website builders, and AI-assisted workflows. I enjoy projects that combine technology, creativity, and human behaviour. I also volunteer with TEDxPetalingStreet. I support the team by helping with their digital platforms and technology work. This experience showed me that technology is not only about software. It can help ideas spread, connect people, and share local stories with more people. I am a curious person who likes connecting ideas from different areas. I enjoy building things, understanding systems, and using technology to turn scattered knowledge into something useful.

I am passionate about the space where technology, product thinking, creativity, and human behaviour meet. I enjoy building digital products, but I also like understanding why people use them and what makes a good experience. I am interested in how a small idea can grow into something useful and sustainable. I am very curious about AI as a tool for thinking and creating. I explore how AI can help developers understand systems, keep knowledge, improve workflows, and make it easier to turn ideas into real products. I also enjoy gamification and interactive experiences. I learned that software does not always need to feel serious. Movement, feedback, storytelling, and play can make an experience more fun and memorable. Outside of development, I like learning about mental models, business ideas, new technology, communities, and how people make decisions. My main question is always: How can we connect ideas and make them useful?

Many good ideas never create impact because they are too complex, too technical, or not clearly explained. A developer may understand the system but not the user. A business owner may understand the problem but not the technology. A team member may have valuable experience, but it is not shared with others. People have a lot of information, but still do not know what to do. I believe our job is not to make things look complex. Our job is to make things clear. We can translate complex technology into simple experiences, personal knowledge into shared systems, and ideas into real actions that help people. AI makes this easier, but AI is not the main idea. The important part is how we use it. AI can help us find patterns, keep knowledge, explore ideas, and make information easier to understand. The future may not belong to people who know the most. It may belong to people who can connect ideas, explain them clearly, and turn them into something useful for others.

My TED story started with TEDxPetalingStreet, a Chinese-language TEDx platform in Malaysia. I joined as a volunteer and supported the team with their digital platforms and technology work. Before this, I mostly saw websites as products with features, data, and deadlines. TEDxPetalingStreet helped me see something more. A website can connect people. Technology can help a speaker’s idea reach someone far away. A volunteer team can bring together people from different backgrounds with one shared goal. Behind every event page are many people: speakers, organisers, designers, volunteers, partners, and participants. Technology is important, but it is there to support people. This experience changed how I think about building systems. A good system is not only working well. It should help people discover, understand, connect, and take part. TED also showed me that good ideas can come from anyone. Local stories and everyday experiences can also be powerful, if someone shares them clearly.
