Laurence Lim

I am a licensed architect from the Philippines and an educator specializing in the Primary and Middle Years Programme. I am also proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and have volunteered with ministries supporting people with disabilities in the Philippines. My professional and personal passions extend to art, music, and Broadway, which continuously inspire both my teaching and creative work.

My ideas worth spreading center on the power of hands-on learning and creativity. I believe that spaces like Makerspaces and projects in robotics, constructionism, art, and design empower students to think critically, solve real-world problems, and express themselves meaningfully. By blending technology, creativity, and collaboration, I aim to inspire young learners to discover their potential and make learning both joyful and impactful

You know, some people don’t even know that I’m actually an architect. They often just see me as an educator, or someone who works with kids in Makerspaces. But being an architect is such a big part of how I see the world. For me, architecture isn’t only about buildings—it’s about creating spaces where people feel safe, inspired, and able to grow. And that connects directly to what I do in education. When I design a library corner, a Makerspace, or even just a classroom activity, I think of it like designing a building. Every detail matters, because the right environment can unlock creativity. And here’s the part that surprises people even more—I also sing. People don’t usually expect that from me. But to me, singing and architecture have the same soul. Both are about harmony, rhythm, balance—and both have the power to move people. So my story is this: whether it’s through design, teaching, or music, I’m passionate about bringing beauty and possibility into spaces and into people’s lives. Sometimes the best designs aren’t what we build with our hands, but what we help others discover in themselves.

Many may not know that I am an architect that is why I have a strong eye for aesthetics, able to envision ideal and harmonious designs—and that I am also a skilled singer.
