Grace D'mello

Student

I am Grace D’mello, a student at Amity School Dubai. With a deep love for Biology and Psychology, I have always been curious about how the mind and body work together and that curiosity shapes the way I see the world. Outside of academics, I am passionate about art and music which has given me courage to express myself and connect with others. Alongside that, I have dedicated myself to volunteering, where I have learned the power of empathy, teamwork and service. I have also had the privilege of planing and hosting two major events in my community, which challenged me to lead with creativity and confidence. These experiences have made my communication and leadership skills strong.

I am passionate about understanding how the mind and body work, expressing myself through art and music and making a difference through volunteering and leadership. I love collaborating with others and using my skills to inspire positive change.

Mental Health is Physical Health We often separate the two, but in reality the mind and the body are interconnected. Stress, emotions and mindsets can directly impact our immunity, energy and overall wellbeing. At the same time the physical aspect also influences our mental aspect, like how we think, feel and interact with others. If we see mental and physical health as one we can build healthy communities where people care about themselves as whole and not just one part.

I have always been inspired by TED Talks and how they can transform perspectives with just a few minutes of storytelling. Today, TEDx gives me the opportunity to create a platform for those whose ideas can spark change and spread inspiration
