Bio

Sabine Lapointe is a grade 10 student at Earl Marriott Secondary. Known for her love for musical theatre, Sabine has performed in ten productions, twice in White Rock’s annual Christmas pantomime. She also loves to use her public speaking and organizational skills to create change. Thus, she founded the Playful Palette Foundation, a not-for-profit that reduces financial barriers for the families of aspiring young artists. Sabine is passionate about making a difference, actively engaging in her school’s Student, Music and Advisory Councils. In the future, she plans to pursue a career in politics, to continue making her community a better place.

I'm passionate about

I am passionate about the arts and art discrimination. So many kids have passions like mine, but don't have the means to pursue those passions. My goal, and my nonprofit's goal, is to help children find opportunities in the arts. So many times, the arts are pushed aside because sports are deemed more important, but they aren't. Arts need to be seen and cared for.

An idea worth spreading

Many teenagers don't believe that they can make an impact in their community because they are too young. Sabine believes that when you care about something, it doesn't matter how old you are, only how passionate you are. Nobody is just a kid, and when you find a subject that lights a fire in you, you can go into your community and inspire positive change.
