Bart Schoonbaert

I am Chief Strategy Officer at Planetary X, a nature tech social enterprise. Planetary X links global funding and finance to the local protection and restoration of our biodiversity and ecosystems, through incentivising and rewarding the stewards of our lands and waters. We deploy advanced technology, create assets that recognise and value nature as a system, and enable mass participation on the supply side and the demand side. I am a social scientist by academic background, instinct and outlook. I had an early career in music and sound, followed by many years in strategy, policy, regulation and governance in water, energy and nature (market) contexts. Both in public and private organisations, from Accenture to the British Civil Service to Arup.
