I help leaders dig up their truth and share their message with the masses. I am driven by connection, communication and changing the world. In 2001 I founded my first company, Girls Fight Back (GFB), which teaches women's safety seminars at schools, colleges and corporations. I launched GFB in direct response to the murder of my college friend, Shannon McNamara, at Eastern Illinois University. Growing this social enterprise to help other women avoid Shannon's fate was my personal and professional mission between 2001-2013. During that time my role was social entrepreneur, speaker, author and media figure. I wrote a book about violence against young women (now in its 3rd edition), an ongoing column for CosmoGirl magazine, launched an online movement to create safer campuses and gave speeches to over one million people at live events. I expanded the company internationally to India and Pakistan in 2011. I believe in bringing positive messages to the media, so you may have seen me on CNN, Fox News, The New York Times, Glamour magazine or The Washington Post. After twelve kickass years (literally), I sold GFB to Los Angeles talent agency, Kirkland Productions. Today I remain an advisor to GFB, and am so proud of the impact the movement continues to generate. I founded Evoso in 2012 to help influencers with the art and business of public speaking and platform building. Our client list includes organization founders, leaders, visionaries, paradigm-shifters and viral TEDx sensation, Ash Beckham, whose speech is the 6th most viewed TEDx talk of all time. I love volunteering and have donated my time to the Unreasonable Institute, TEDxBoulder, StartingBloc, Hollaback and Boulder Startup Week.
