Bio
I‘m a serial entrepreneur with a deep and life long commitment to strengthening democracy.
My passion for democracy comes from realizing its fragility and feeling historic responsibility for it as a German. Went through many phases of apprenticeship as social entrepreneur: studied History in Germany, a PhD in History/Grand Strategy at Yale, consulted with McKinsey and Innosight and finally spent over 15 years at Ashoka, where I launched programs in Germany, France and Switzerland.
I founded my current enterprise The History Co:Lab in 2019 out of concern that our education system was not preparing young people to be thriving, engaged, informed and capable citizens. We are an R&D Lab and network weaver to accelerate the transformation of learning systems to ensure civic thriving.
We are a relationship and history centered innovation lab. We crafted concept of “teen centered civics”, and translate neuroscience and systems research into products, ecosystems and networks to transform entire learning systems, always in collaboration with others. Key hubs: Kansas City, Dallas, Pittsburgh. Deep collaboration for scale with EuroClio, spreading science backed civics across Europe.
Interested in neuroscience, systemschange, aspiration, transformation and civic renewal.
