About Amena
I am a…
Artist, Entrepreneur, Student
I'm passionate about
I’m passionate about taking ownership and wearing multiple hats, whether it’s leading a team, organising an event, building a community, or diving into the details no one else notices. I thrive when I can balance strategy with execution, thinking through the big picture while making sure the small, practical pieces fall into place.
I do best when I’m bringing people together, guiding them, and helping ideas become real. I enjoy figuring out how teams can work efficiently, how systems can run smoothly, and how ideas can move from concept to action without losing momentum.
I’m naturally drawn to impact that matters in the real world, not just in theory or on paper.
An idea worth spreading
If there’s something you seriously want to pursue, just go for it, fully, without holding back. Don’t wait for perfect conditions. Don’t hedge your bets. Go all in. The moment you commit fully, everything changes, you start noticing possibilities you missed before, you push past fears, and you discover strengths you didn’t know you had.
It won’t always be easy. It will be messy, uncertain, and sometimes overwhelming. But that’s the point. The journey of fully committing to something you care about is where growth, learning, and transformation happen. And the reward isn’t just achieving a goal, it’s the experience of realising what you’re capable of, the confidence you gain, and the life you create for yourself along the way.
Go all in. Burn the ships. The path will be challenging, but it will also be the most rewarding experience of your life, and it will change you forever.
The TED story
My TED journey began long before; it began with curiosity. As a student, I was fascinated by how a single idea, when articulated with clarity and courage, could shift perspectives and spark action. TED showed me that knowledge doesn’t have to be distant or intimidating; it can be human, accessible, and deeply personal.
Over time, that curiosity turned into responsibility. I moved from being someone who listened to ideas, to someone who helped create spaces where ideas could be shared. Belief that voices, especially those still finding their confidence, deserve to be heard.
TED taught me that impact isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s quiet consistency. Sometimes it’s choosing to show up, again and again, even when outcomes are uncertain. My story with TED is not about having arrived, it’s about being in motion. Still learning. Still building. Still committed to the power of ideas to create thoughtful, lasting change.
For me, TED is not a moment on stage.
It’s a mindset I carry forward,every day.
Things you might not know
People don’t usually realise that I’m good at noticing things that are easy to miss. I see potential in ideas, projects, and even people, long before it becomes obvious. Most people focus on what’s ready or visible; I tend to focus on what’s quietly emerging, the small details that hint at what could be.
I’m also good at connecting things, ideas, people, and opportunities that might not seem related at first. I naturally see patterns and possibilities that others overlook, and I enjoy figuring out how different pieces can fit together.
What’s often overlooked is that I stick with things. I pay attention, observe, and think through how things could grow or evolve over time. I do it because I genuinely care about understanding how things work and helping them develop in their own way.
It’s quiet work, but it’s what I’m naturally good at.
