Bio
Adam Cunningham is Chief Executive Officer at Allied Global Marketing, the world's largest independent entertainment agency. He works at the intersection of entertainment, media, and technology, helping organisations adapt to a world where attention is the scarce resource, distribution is algorithmic, and creation is increasingly cheap and abundant. He leads AI, transformation, and innovation initiatives spanning audience strategy, marketing effectiveness, data and intelligence, and new models of cultural relevance for some of the world's largest brands.
Before Allied, Adam founded 87AM, scaled the agency across three countries and sold it in 2011. Earlier, he founded and sold a company focused on the emerging tensions between celebrity culture and digital privacy. He writes Strange Loop (www.strangeloopmedia.com), where he analyses how platforms reshape behaviour, identity, and creativity, and he DJs as A7.
I'm passionate about
- The amorphous self vs the algorithmic self
- The art of intentional living with a fierce ability to say no and give an emphatic yes equally
- Human connection and belonging
- The neuroscience of desire & decision-making: Whether it’s love, sex, money, or self-discipline, why do we chase it and when will it kill us?
An idea worth spreading
The End of Human Exceptionalism: What Happens When Intelligence Is No Longer Our Advantage?
If machines think better than us, then the only thing left to define us is meaning. The next great human revolution will not be about intelligence, but purpose. What does it mean to be human when thinking itself is no longer what makes us special? That is the defining question of our time.
