An idea worth spreading
Empowering communities through the fusion of technology, inclusivity, and bold ideas to create sustainable and equitable futures for all. As the curator of TEDxUniversityofSalford, my passion lies in creating a platform where ideas can spark innovation, challenge societal norms, and inspire communities to think bigger and act bolder. I believe in the transformative power of storytelling and the ability of a single idea to ripple outward, influencing individuals, organizations, and global movements.
My expertise focuses on the intersection of technology, financial inclusion, and sustainable development. With a deep understanding of interoperable financial technologies (i-FinTech), I explore how innovative solutions can empower institutions to break down systemic barriers, making financial services accessible to the underserved. Specifically, my work investigates the role of technology in reshaping agricultural credit policies and institutional behavior to support smallholder farmers, critical players in the journey toward food security and economic equity.
At TEDxUniversityofSalford, we’ve embraced themes that reflect the evolution of human potential. From Rejuvenation to Become Unstoppable, Seek Higher Things and now Beyond Sustainability, each event has served as a catalyst for reflection and action. My vision for TEDx is to foster a community of thinkers and doers who not only seek solutions but also aspire to transform how we approach global challenges.
An idea worth spreading isn’t bound by geography, discipline, or background. It’s an idea that challenges the status quo, dares to dream bigger, and equips others with the tools to envision and create a better future. Through TEDx, I aim to shine a spotlight on voices that inspire this kind of change and to continue building a platform where every story matters.
The TED story
"My TED Story: From Ideas to Impact"
My TED journey began with a deep admiration for the power of storytelling and the transformative potential of ideas. I’ve always believed that a single idea, when shared in the right way, can spark innovation, inspire action, and create ripples of positive change. That belief brought me to TEDxUniversityofSalford, where I’ve had the privilege of curating events that bring people together to celebrate the pursuit of knowledge, creativity, and shared humanity.
As a researcher deeply engaged in exploring the intersection of technology and social impact, I’ve witnessed firsthand how the right platform can elevate voices and amplify solutions to global challenges. My work on interoperable financial technologies (i-FinTech) focuses on breaking barriers in financial inclusion, particularly for underserved communities like smallholder farmers in rural areas. This experience has profoundly shaped my understanding of how access to knowledge, technology, and collaboration can drive sustainable change.
Through TEDx, I’ve found a way to combine my passion for innovation with my commitment to making a difference. Over the years, I’ve curated events with themes that challenge the status quo and encourage audiences to think bigger. From Become Unstoppable to Seek Higher Things and now Beyond Sustainability, each theme reflects a step forward in our collective journey toward meaningful transformation.
What makes TEDx special to me is its ability to transcend boundaries. It’s not just about the ideas shared on stage, it’s about the connections made, the questions sparked, and the actions taken afterward. Every talk, every performance, and every interaction holds the potential to inspire someone to see the world differently and to believe in their capacity to effect change.
As a TEDx curator, I’ve had the honor of working with incredible speakers, performers, and volunteers, each contributing their unique energy and vision to create unforgettable experiences. My goal has always been to ensure that every individual, whether on stage, behind the scenes, or in the audience, feels empowered by the process and leaves with a renewed sense of purpose.
TEDx is more than an event; it’s a movement fueled by curiosity, collaboration, and the courage to imagine a better world. My TED story is about being part of that movement, bringing together diverse voices, fostering conversations that matter, and celebrating the boundless potential of ideas worth spreading.
Things you might not know
People don’t know I’m good at finding connections between seemingly unrelated ideas, disciplines, and perspectives to create innovative solutions that inspire action and drive meaningful change.
Throughout my career, I’ve developed a knack for bridging gaps between complex concepts, whether it’s translating technical research into relatable narratives or aligning diverse stakeholders toward a shared vision. This skill has been invaluable in my work as a TEDx curator, where I craft experiences that connect with audiences from all walks of life and spark new ways of thinking.
In addition to my work in curating thought-provoking events, I’ve honed my ability to understand and integrate different perspectives while working on projects that focus on technology and social impact. For example, in my research on interoperable financial technologies (i-FinTech), I not only navigate technical, policy, and cultural frameworks but also find ways to communicate their relevance in shaping financial inclusion for smallholder farmers.
Beyond my professional expertise, I enjoy mentoring others, helping them articulate their unique stories and ideas in ways that resonate powerfully with their audiences. Whether it’s helping a TEDx speaker refine their talk or working behind the scenes to design a seamless experience, I thrive on bringing the best out of others and making complex ideas accessible, engaging, and impactful.
So, while I may be known for my work in technology and event curation, what people don’t always realize is my passion for finding deeper connections, between people, ideas, and opportunities, and using those connections to build bridges that lead to something truly transformative.
