I am Daniela Rodriguez Soto, an international student at the University of Kentucky, majoring in Management and Marketing with a minor in International Business. I am a dedicated researcher and Gaines Fellow,currently doing independent research that explores the mental health and well-being of senior citizens in Nicoya, Costa Rica, one of the world's Blue Zones. Passionate about leadership and research, I have been involved in multiple research projects and co-authored publications. I am also interested in Project Management and aspire to a managerial role in global enterprise or government.

An idea worth spreading from my research in Nicoya, Costa Rica, is the power of community and intergenerational support in fostering the mental health and well-being of senior citizens. In one of the world's Blue Zones, where longevity is common, the social bonds between family, friends, and the broader community play a critical role in sustaining physical and mental health. By understanding and promoting these local self-care practices and social networks, we can inspire more age-friendly communities worldwide that prioritize connection, care, and holistic well-being for seniors.

As I prepare to direct my first TED conference as event manager at the University of Kentucky, I reflect on how my passion for research and leadership has brought me to this point. Organizing an event like this is a new challenge, but one that aligns with my drive to share meaningful ideas with the world.
