About Shalewa
Bio
Brooklyn-based comedian Shalewa Sharpe developed her sly yet goofy style in Atlanta, where she was raised. By cracking wise about her life experiences, she connects the personal to much larger themes - which is a fancy way to say that she don’t get it ‘til she’s in it. A 2019 Vulture Comic To Watch, she has appeared on HBO, Comedy Central, Peacock, and Showtime. Shalewa is currently touring “Don’t Reach In The Bag,” her solo show about working in an adult video store. She has two albums: “Stay Eating Cookies” (2016) and “So You Just Out Here?” (2019), both available everywhere. And like any good comedian, she is a co-host of the weekly podcast, “The War Report with Gastor and Shalewa.” She can be found on Twitter and Instagram at @silkyjumbo.
