Barry Cooper

Mr. Barry Cooper’s educational career spans 20 years, 3 continents, and 4 prestigious schools in London, Edinburgh, Shanghai and Dubai. Most recently, he shaped the academic curriculum for the newly launched Brighton College Dubai, while also finding time to create and curate a new Arts festival. Previously he championed the IB Diploma programme for History at Wellington College Shanghai, his first international move after 8 years on the leadership team at leading Scottish boarding school Loretto just outside Edinburgh. He started his career at Epsom College, as teacher of History and a residential Assistant Housemaster. Barry read History at St Andrews and then took his master’s degree at Stirling with a focus on the historiography of The Crusades. He also has the UK National Professional Qualification for Headship. Focus on community He is passionate about working with families to create strong school communities. He has worked tirelessly with parents and students in his previous schools to build networks of support that impact student academic study, wellbeing, parent engagement in school, careers development and application processes for the world’s best Universities and Colleges. As well as being a keen student of history Barry also has an interest in Japanese Print Art, which he collects (a habit picked up from three years in Asia). He has an interest in cooking, culture, galleries and travel.

Third Law: Any use of AI must be based on a user’s expert contextual understanding of the topic being investigated. 0. Zeroth Law: AI is not perfect and must be used within a framework of critical thinking.
