Chisom Chimezie is an Entrepreneurial Leadership student at African Leadership University in Kigali, Rwanda. Chisom is passionate about women's empowerment, creating adequate awareness and an inclusive environment for female education, bridging the gender literacy gap, and increasing female socio-economic empowerment through social actions. Chisom currently interns as a government and external Affairs Intern at the African Leadership University and has helped to recruit Student Ambassadors with 60% women to help create gender inclusion of females into official workspaces. Apart from being a student and an intern, Chisom is currently a Millenium Fellow for the 2023 Millenium Campus Network class. She was designated as an Emerging Technologist for this year. As a Nigerian, much of her education focused on the region's role in female education in Nigeria. After she graduates, Chisom plans to earn a master's degree in Leadership, Policy, and advocacy for Early Childhood Well-Being and work in a field regarding human rights.

Lemons are not naturally occurring, they're a hybrid by cross-breeding a bitter orange and a citron. So basically life never gave us lemons, we created them ourselves. Just like lemons, which are a man-made hybrid, opportunities in life are not always handed to us naturally. They often require creativity, effort, and the willingness to combine different elements to create something new. Instead of waiting for life to give us what we want, we can actively shape our circumstances, turning challenges into opportunities by leveraging our unique skills, perspectives, and experiences. This mindset encourages us to be proactive, resourceful, and innovative in both our personal and professional lives, reminding us that we have the power to create our own "lemons"—our own opportunities for growth and success.
