Bio

A social person who thrives on connections, embraces diversity, engages actively, and finds joy in shared experiences and meaningful conversations, I'm Shambhavi Singh. I belong to the Coal Capital of India and hold two Bachelor's Degrees, one in Chemistry and another in Education. Presently, I am doing my Master's in Business Administration at SIBM Bengaluru. With a creative bend, I love to indulge in calligraphy—Copperplate. I also love to travel and have been to several states enriching myself with the divergent cultures of my land.

I'm passionate about

When I hear "passion," I hear dance. I've been dancing since 2nd standard, or maybe even before. The earliest preserved clip of me dancing dates back to that time, capturing the joy and freedom I felt. It was not just about knowing another step, getting on stage; dancing was always an opportunity for me to bring myself forth, just let this music in me go. It means much more than only being a hobby. It forms such a deep, joyful part of who I am, and with every performance or a certain dance, a little feeling of happiness and accomplishment from within creeps in.

An idea worth spreading

What does success really mean? Most of our lives, we are in a race to get to a goal specified by someone else, where the things that count are seldom noticed. Success feels just like an activity in which we measure our worth through metrics that will leave us unfulfilled. It is perhaps like riding a Ferris wheel: no destination. But perhaps the answer does not lie in seeking more, rather in redefining success on our terms. For it is when we set an intention to focus on a life that reflects who we really are that change starts to happen-not just our own, but for others around us. A change that always starts with one of us.

The TED story

A lively, cheerful girl finishing her intermediate studies was suddenly diagnosed with a chronic illness. While life moved on for everyone else, I felt stuck in that moment, living in isolation and plagued with doubts. For six years, I lost sight of my dreams and struggled with self-doubt. But I eventually realized my own potential and decided to pursue an MBA, breaking free from my inhibitions. Though challenges remain, I am tackling them with renewed cheer and determination. This journey has taught me that overcoming self-doubt is key to moving forward and embracing life's possibilities with optimism.
