I am the CEO and co-founder of DMAT, an MIT startup on a mission to decarbonize the concrete sector which is responsible for 8% of global CO2 emissions. As part of an international team of pioneering material scientists and concrete wizards, we've discovered the secret of durability behind ancient Roman construction, which has allowed structures like the Pantheon to endure for 2000 years. Taking inspiration from these ancient, lost practices, we have developed a breakthrough low-carbon, self-healing concrete that will provide a new foundation for sustainable modern construction. From archaeological research, to AI-driven material science, to participation in global forums like COP28, we are on a mission to make our deep-tech solutions simple, affordable, and globally available. When I'm not crafting concrete recipes, you can find me exploring the Mediterranean lands, embracing challenges, seeking adrenaline, pursuing a profound connection with the world around me, and creating ventures that make a tangible difference and bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical solutions.
